Shinto Workshops & Seminars

With a foundation of six years of academic Shinto studies at universities and graduate schools in Japan, and further enriched by an extensive career serving at an established shrine in Japan, our Chief Priest offers a variety of workshops and lectures.

These programs are designed to authentically convey Shinto culture and traditional etiquette—offerings that are rarely accessible outside of Japan.

Kagura Mai Yuuhi

Authentic Kagura-Mai Lecture Course
(Aiming for Public Festival Performances)

A continuous training course directly taught by our Chief Priest, focusing on mastering sacred ritual dances such as "Toyosaka-no-Mai". Participants will thoroughly study everything from elegant physical movements to the handling of "Torimono" (sacred branches or ritual flowers held in the hand), and the correct choreography of the traditional forms.

For those interested, the ultimate goal of this course is to perform a sacred dance offering on stage at local community events, such as Summer Festivals. Our project name on those events is "Kagura Mai Yuuhi".

Scent-Bag (Nioibukuro) & Omamori Amulet Workshop with a Certified Ko-shi

This workshop is uniquely led by our Chief Priest, who is also a certified "Ko-shi" (Incense Instructor and blend specialist) accredited by Japan's renowned Takimonoya-Karaku.
Using traditional, premium natural Japanese raw materials, you will blend your own customized fragrance to create a traditional "Nioibukuro" (scent bag). You will then place your own handwritten wish/prayer inside a sacred fabric pouch, crafting a one-of-a-kind "Omamori" amulet to take home. The workshop also covers the history of incense and the Shinto philosophy of spiritual purification.

Shinto Lectures

We offer regular seminars covering various facets of Shinto tradition.

Private sessions or tailored lectures can also be arranged to fit your specific interests (history, art, architecture, spirituality, etc.).
